ATTACK! Pro Wrestling returned for their second Cheltenham show of the year at the Frog & Fiddle. This was the first ATTACK! show since their biggest event of 2017 (My Sacrifice) and along with just about every other Raffler, I was intrigued to see how this show would play out after the incredible event at Cardiff Walkabout in April.
Sadly I wasn't in attendance for this show as a good friend of mine was getting married that same day. However ATTACK! had the VOD available on Vimeo the following day. An absolutely incredible effort to those involved in getting that sorted! 'Remorseless' Dan Moloney vs EC Drew vs Kyle Fletcher vs Love Making Demon Now where do I start? This one was quite intriguing just for the men (and animal) involved. Dan Moloney was fresh off of his appearances for WWE the previous weekend in Norwich, Drew Parker's gimmick this time was Paul D. Heyman, Kyle Fletcher, a 19 year old Aussie lad, was making his ATTACK! debut and Love Making Demon returned to the ring for the first time in I've no idea how long! It's great to see Demon back being as seedy as ever! The match was short but sweet with DAN picking up the win pinning Kyle Fletcher. I can't say I'm surprised at the result, but surprised that the match barely lasted five minutes. I'm interested to see more of what Fletcher has to offer so I'm glad he's been announced for the next show in Bristol on May 20th. Winner: 'Remorseless' Dan Moloney Elijah vs 'The All Day Star' Ryan Smile Now this was another intriguing contest. Both men don't really have rivalries going on at the moment so it was nice to see a one-on-one contest between these two damn good wrestlers. Ryan was fresh off of his two matches against The Elite at Easter (one for Rev Pro and the other for OTT) while Elijah had ended up on the wrong end of his rivalry with Drew Parker at 'My Sacrifice'. Both men looked really impressive here, but then that's nothing new. Elijah just seems to go from strength-to-strength while Ryan has been impressing fans and critics alike all over the country with his high flying style of wrestling. The intrigue in this one for me was the thought of "who'd come out victorious?" Would the young and hungry, yet often vicious Elijah get back on track against an ATTACK! veteran? Or would said veteran show Elijah how much passion he has? Well, it was kind of a combination of the two. As much as Ryan picked up the win with a Frog Splash, Elijah put in a great performance to show that he's no mug and is definitely someone to be taken seriously in ATTACK! Pro Wrestling. Will this be the last we see of them against each other in an ATTACK! ring? Or was this simply a one off? Personally, I'd love to see another match between Ryan Smile and Elijah! Winner: Ryan Smile Anti-Fun Police (James & Leigh Obstruction and Chief Deputy Dunne) w/ Los Federales Santos Jr. vs Bowl-A-Rama and Tyler Bate Three champions were involved in this incredible six man tag team match. Firstly we had the ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Champion Chief Deputy Dunne, the ATTACK! Pro Wrestling 24/7 Champion Lloyd Katt and, of course, the WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate. I have to say, it was great to see Tyler back in an ATTACK! ring for the first time since last years Under the Mistletour show in Bristol. This match had all of the usual antics you'd expect between these six men. Lots of shenanigans, lots of comedy and lots of...well...FUNAH! My favourite part was when Splits used Tyler as a bowling ball and rolled him into Chief Deputy Dunne. It reminded me of the scene in the movie Hook when Thud Butt rolls into a load of Captain Hook's men. Great movie, that! Anyway, back to the graps because shortly after this part of the match, the fun and games came to a halt with the Anti-Fun Police taking control of the WWE UK Champion for the next five minutes or so with Chief Deputy Dunne dishing out a lot of punishment to the Dudley native. Tyler managed to get himself back into the game however and after some chaotic moments, scored the win pinning one of the Brothers of Obstruction after a Tyler Driver 97 (I believe it was Leigh but with these Ron Jeremy moustache's it's even harder to know which one is which). However, the post match antics were almost as noteworthy as the match itself... Winners: Bowl-A-Rama and Tyler Bate After the three were done posing with their championships and bowling ball in celebration of their huge win, Tyler rolled up Lloyd Katt to become the new ATTACK! Pro Wrestling 24/7 Champion. Now, think about this for a moment. Tyler Bate won't be in attendance next weekend in Bristol because he'll be wrestling at NXT TakeOver: Chicago against Pete Dunne with the WWE United Kingdom title on the line. Now as we're all aware, the ATTACK! 24/7 title is on the line all day every day. Should Pete pin Tyler during that match to become the WWE UK Champion, surely that would make him the ATTACK! 24/7 Champion too? Just a little food for thought there... New ATTACK! Pro Wrestling 24/7 Champion Tyler Bate Sergeant Banks w/ Chief Deputy Dunne & Los Federales Santos Jr. vs 'Flash' Morgan Webster Before the match starts, Sergeant Banks wishes to address the "elephant in the room" and looks directly at Los Federales Santos Jr. It seems that Chief Deputy Dunne may have been unfaithful while Sergeant Banks has been away. As much as Dunne and Jr. made attempts to dispel that belief, they did their case no justice when Banks caught them locking lips on the outside of the ring at the beginning of the match prompting the Sergeant to call Jr. a "hussy". I can't blame him! I'm with the Sergeant on this one! Sergeant Banks was the one who came away with the win in this one when he scored with his signature springboard kick to the face after both Chief Deputy Dunne and Los Federales Santos Jr. had caused distractions to 'The Modfather'. With Webster having staked his claim for the ATTACK! Pro Wrestling title at 'My Sacrifice', does this loss now push him down the list of contenders? Or will Dunne try to emulate the efforts of Banks by defeating 'Flash'? Stay tuned to ATTACK! on social media to find out how this one develops! Winner: Sergeant Banks #CCK vs FSU Quite possibly the shortest heading I've ever provided for a match! However, this one changed before it even started. Jim Lea announced that it was Shay Purser's 18th birthday the day before and announced he'd now be a part of this match against Eddie Dennis, Mark Andrews and their partner 'Bruiserweight' Pete Dunne! #CCK and Shay Purser vs Defend Indy Wrestling Now I'm going to try to not give too much of this match away for the simple fact that it was absolutely epic and I strongly urge everyone to go out and get the VOD or, when it's available, the DVD. This is quite easily one of the best matches I've seen so far in 2017 and it should come as no surprise really when all six men have been in phenomenal form since the turn of the year in one way or another. Yes, I'm even including Shay in that! One thing I loved about this was at the beginning of the match whenever the hard cam was in play, you could see Eddie standing on the apron beaming from ear-to-ear. Clearly 'The Pride of Wales' was enjoying the fact that he was in there with his two best friends! And who could blame him? I can't think I've ever seen all three of them on the same team before, let alone remember the last time I saw that combination of wrestlers. Hell, I was just enjoying the fact that we got to see a reunion of Flips and Forearms (Mark and Pete) in ATTACK! Pro Wrestling! Not to discredit anything on the other side of the ring, it's fair to say that #CCK and Shay Purser hit some "sick fucking tag moves" when they finally managed to take control of the match. #CCK hit all of their usual spots plus a couple of new ones which is more than enough of a reason to go out and buy this VOD on Vimeo! It was the team of Defend Indy Wrestling who won this one. Shay had had enough it seemed and retrieved the birthday cake presented to him by 'The Bruiserweight' before the start of the match. He then berated the Cheltenham audience before turning around and realising he was all alone in the ring with Dunne. Purser dropped the cake and was then dropped face first onto it courtesy of a Pete Dunne Pedigree for the 1-2-3. Oh, and Shay got more cake afterwards as well with Mark, Eddie and Pete forcing the remainder of his birthday treat into his face! Winners: Defend Indy Wrestling So that wraps up this review of ATTACK! Pro Wrestling's recent event Teenagers With Attitude. You can't help but wonder if this show was named in honour of Shay Purser really. Anyway, this was a fantastic event and one you don't want to miss so if you haven't already, please go out and buy the VOD on Vimeo for just £5.99. It really is a bargain and the main event is a match of the year candidate! ATTACK! Pro Wrestling will be back on May 20th when they return to Bristol for Soundtrack to a Head Drop. No matches have been announced thus far but the show has in fact sold out for the Trinity Centre! If you haven't got a ticket, make sure you get the VOD when it's available on Vimeo! Every ATTACK! show at the moment is seemingly an event that you can't afford to miss!
