Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us.
Thank you for having me.
Firstly, could you give us a background on yourself away from wrestling?
Im 20 years old, I come from Hull in Yorkshire, I moved to Liverpool almost three years ago to study a psychology degree at the University of Liverpool. I’ve always been passionate about sports, when I was younger I did gymnastics for about 8 years. I also did boxing for around 2 years too when I was about 15.
When did you first become interested in professional wrestling and who were some of your favourite wrestlers at that time?
When I was REALLY young I first started watching WWF/WWE. My mum banned me from watching it for a while, so I started watching it again properly in about 2005. My favourite wrestlers back then were definitely Jeff Hardy, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Edge.
What inspired you to become a wrestler? Was there a particular match or moment or a combination of both?
I always wanted to be like the superstars I saw on tv, but one match in particular that gave me chills was Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle at WM21. The match was amazing from start to finish and I remember after the first time I watched it, I knew that this was what I wanted to do.
How long did it take from having the first thoughts about becoming a pro wrestler to finding a school and starting your training?
I started having thoughts about finally starting wrestling after I moved away to University. It took me a bit of time to settle in and I was back and forth with homesickness, so I didn’t end up starting until after Christmas in my first year. I spent my Christmas holidays googling ‘Wrestling schools near liverpool’ and that’s how I found RWA/ASWA Cheshire ran by Andy Baker!
How did your friends and family react when you told them you wanted to train to wrestle?
They all seemed shocked at first and laughed as if I was joking. A few of my friends from home have made comments like “I can’t believe you actually did it!” so I think it came as a shock to them more than anything.
How long did it take to debut in the ring after your first training session and what are your memories of your first ever match?
It took about 10 months before I debuted, and it was against Lucy Sky at RWA Winsford in October last year. Lucy managed to somehow get the upper hand and beat me… I put that down to experience but I just worked harder so that I could beat her the next time.
You won the RWA Women's Championship at the recent All Hallows Brawl event. The former champion Naeva Louise appeared to be rather disgruntled on Twitter following that event. Can you tell us exactly what went down during that show?
In February I won a contract against Lucy Sky that would give me a title shot any time i wanted. Naeva lost her title to Nicola Hyde and THEN I cashed in on Nicola… I didn’t cash in on Naeva! Naeva was supposed to be my best friend and long term tag partner, but she declared the end of Team Supreme via twitter. She’s just salty. I made team supreme, supreme anyway.
A week or so ago, yourself and Lucy Sky wrestled for a full hour, calling the match on the fly in training. What was the thought process prior to that session and how easy or difficult did you find wrestling for that long?
RWA coach Andy Baker always teaches us in training to work on the fly to over prepare us for any opportunities! I didn’t have any thought processes prior to it because I didn’t know I was doing it! Andy teaches in a fun environment and everybody can have a laugh with each other. When Andy asked us to get in the ring and then he said ‘its 12:40, you’re going an hour lets go’ I genuinely thought he was just having a laugh! It was very difficult, because it is so tiring and you have to think on your feet! Luckily I have wrestled Lucy many times and that kind of made it easier.
You're also the current Women's champion over at Alpha Omega Wrestling and you have an upcoming defence against the three previous champions. Do you have anything you'd like to say to Viper, Lana Austin and Felony ahead of that match on December 2nd?
I am an absolutely huge fan of all three girls work, I think they have done a lot of work to get their characters over. I have wrestled Felony twice, and I’d like to think that I know how her mind works… I have been studying Lana and Viper for the past few weeks as I am yet to face them in the ring! I am excited, I'm nervous but I want to prove my position as champion and make the Morecambe fans proud – I'm ready to take them all on!
Are there any matches from your career so far that stick out in your mind above others?
At PCW’s Girl Power 2 I had a match against Rhio to qualify for the next round of a tournament to win the PCW Womens Championship. I was unsuccessful but it is by far one of my favourite matches to date. I also had the best match of my career against Lucy Sky as our feud ender in a lumberjill match at the last All Hallows Brawl event in Runcorn.
What's the best piece of advice that you've been given so far in wrestling?
The best piece of advice I have been given in wrestling was definitely by my coach Andy, he tells us to make sure we always stay grounded but still shoot for the moon. He has definitely taught me to be humble for all the opportunities that I get given.
Who would you say has had the biggest impact on you in life and in wrestling?
The biggest impact in wrestling would definitely be Shawn Michaels. His charisma is something I will always aspire to have. In life it would definitely be my mum, she always tells me to keep going and to do what makes me happy.
Where can fans go to see you wrestling in the coming weeks?
Fans can see me at RWA in Runcorn on the 25th of November for the annual Rumble in Runcorn event and they can also see me on the 2nd of December in Morecambe as I defend my title against Felony, Viper, and Lana Austin! Grab a ticket!
Lastly, what are your short and long-term goals in the ring?
My short term goals are to work for a few more promotions in the UK, keep training hard and consistently! My long term would hopefully be to get a tryout for WWE and eventually work for them!
Thank you once again for agreeing to this interview, Alexxis.
