On April 2nd 2017, Cardiff Walkabout will host quite possibly the biggest and most significant event in ATTACK! Pro Wrestling history. The venue is sold out with some 500 Rafflers having purchased tickets on the biggest night of the wrestling calendar For those who don't know, there's a small event going on in Orlando, Florida on the same evening. I think it's called WrestleMania? Something along those lines anyway.
So far for this event, named 'My Sacrifice', a number of matches and wrestlers have been announced. Here I'll break down the aforementioned matches to give you a taste of what to expect if you've not been at the recent ATTACK! Pro Wrestling events. ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Title - Chief Deputy Dunne defending against Eddie Dennis Back in February at 'Gorilla Pressed and Deep in Conversation' in Bristol, Chief Deputy Dunne defeated the inaugural champion Eddie Dennis to become the new ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Champion. Granted Chief Deputy Dunne had a bit of help from a few friends, including the newest members of the Anti-Fun Police - The Brothers of Obstruction (f.k.a. The Brothers of Construction). This rivalry stretches back a bit further than the last month though. Back at the Under the Mistletour event in Cardiff back in December, Eddie successfully defeated Dunne in his first defence of the title. However, that came at a price for Dunne as he was thrown off the ceiling of the Bingo Hall at Cathays Community Centre by 'The Pride of Wales'. Then at the third edition of Club 100, Eddie was viciously assaulted by Dunne and Sargent Travis Banks after a successful title defence against Chris Brookes. In his home country of Wales, Eddie will get his shot at redemption as well as a chance to win back the title that he had stolen from him a month ago. Who will prevail? Will Eddie win back the title that he had ripped from him in Bristol? Or will Chief Deputy Dunne retain and continue his reign as the No Fun Champion? ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Tag Team Titles - Bowl-A-Rama defending against #CCK Much like Eddie Dennis vs Chief Deputy Dunne, this is a rivalry which has been brewing for months. Back at the Under the Mistletour in Cardiff last December, Lloyd Katt and Splits McPins defeated #CCK's Mondai Lykos and Chris Brookes to become the new ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions. However, this rivalry has turned somewhat personal since then. Just a short while after losing their titles to Splits and 'Fat Cat', #CCK did the unthinkable and destroyed Bowl-A-Rama's beloved bowling alley. The alley had only just been saved after the new champions had managed to receive the funding required to save Bowl-A-Rama. However, Brookes and Lykos didn't seem to care and they took matters into their own hands. Now, this bitter rivalry comes to an end at 'My Sacrifice' as #CCK challenge Bowl-A-Rama for the ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Tag Team titles. The match will be two-out-of-three falls and it's fair to say that the landscape of ATTACK!'s tag division won't be the same after these two teams have finished with one another. Brace yourselves for a war Cardiff! ATTACK! 24/7 Championship - Warren Owen defending against Shay Purser Back at ATTACK! Club Pro in January, Warren Owen pinned Joel Allen to become the ATTACK! 24/7 Champion. Referee Shay Purser had held the title earlier on in that evening and has since been wanting back what he feels is rightfully his, even once stripping Warren of the title (only for Warren to win the belt back with a little help from former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Hornswoggle). It's fair to say that these two men just flat out do not like one another and ATTACK! moved to make this match at the biggest event of the year. Will either man have anything up their sleeve to gain any sort of advantage on their opponent? Will we see a 7 star wrestling classic? Find out on April 2nd! Bird & Boar vs The Brothers of Obstruction Since the last event at Cardiff Walkabout in November, Bird and Boar have been on an absolute tear in ATTACK! and have to be nearing the top of the tag division after a succession of big wins. However, standing in their way in Cardiff will be the team who've recently joined forces with the Anti-Fun Police - The Brothers of Obstruction. If you'd have asked me at the start of the year who I thought would've won this match, I'd have said Bird and Boar, hands down. Now, I'm not so sure (sorry lads!). With their new alliance with the ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Champion, Chief Deputy Dunne and Los Federales Santos Jr., it's quite difficult to look beyond Jim and Leigh Obstruction. There is a flip side though. Bird and Boar have been dismantling some of the best teams in the country over the past year, most notably Polo Promotions in ICW and that experience combined with their ability to take any team past their limits could be enough for them to prevail here. One thing's for certain, it's going to be entertaining, brutal and FUNAH! EC-Drew vs Elijah Ever since Club 100 THREE in January, Elijah has been running through members of the ATTACK! roster like no new comer has ever done before. At that particular event, he defeated Old Poppa Sunflower with relative ease, even going as far as to stealing his mask! He also gave Drew Parker a dressing down telling him that he's not appreciated by the fans and everyone thinks he's a joke. Drew strongly disagreed with this and ended up on the wrong end of a beat down from Elijah. They have faced off and gotten themselves involved in each others matches since this initial confrontation and have put each other through a hell of a lot to get to this point. Who will ever forget Elijah kicking Drew off the ceiling at Cathays Community Centre during the Kris Travis Tag Team Invitational weekend? Something has to give at Cardiff Walkabout. One man will walk out the winner while the other may not walk out at all. I'm predicting a war. A war which is sure to be taken all over Cardiff Walkabout and the brutality which we witness may not be for the faint hearted. My usual question is "Who will Drew appear as?" That becomes almost secondary when the rivalry is as personal as this one! 'Flash' Morgan Webster vs Charlie Sterling After almost a whole year out with injuries suffered during a WWE Cruiserweight Classic qualifier, Morgan Webster returned to the ATTACK! ring at the Kris Travis Tag Team Invitational weekender when he defeated Elijah. His opponent in Cardiff with be Charlie Sterling, who hasn't been seen in ATTACK! for quite some time and will be looking to leave an impression with the fans. Both Webster and Sterling have found success away from ATTACK! over the past few months but they'll both be looking have success in ATTACK! now that they're back. This match is sure to be fast paced, high flying and, above all else, bloody entertaining! Other names announced to appear - Nixon Newell - Danny Jones - WWE UK Championship Superstar Dan Moloney With a card like this, I feel very lucky to be one of the 500 people who'll be in attendance. Remember, if you're not there then check out the VOD or DVD upon their eventual release. ATTACK! never disappoints when putting on a show so if you've never seen one of their shows before, you're certainly in for a treat. Also, I'm sure we'll see a surprise or two along the way. ATTACK! likes to do that to us every so often. Remember to keep up with the BritWres Review Twitter page (@BritWresReview) if you're not in attendance for live results and pictures from the event!
