I'm the new Billy on the BritWres Review team, my name is Billy Strachan and welcome to my profile for your eyeholes.
Let's get down to business, I started watching wrestling in the late 90's bang in the middle of the Attitude Era with my favourite wrestler being Jeff Hardy, to the point when I got my first tattoo it was The Hardy Boyz shield symbol.
It was almost fate that at my first WWE live show (Aberdeen - 2006) I got to see Jeff Hardy successfully defend his Intercontinental Championship against Carlito, Johnny Nitro & Shelton Benjamin.
So for about 20 years now I've seen the good, the bad and the angle with Katie Vick in living colour. It's been my escape from reality and a passion that has never wavered.
In 2012 I attended my first independent show down in Perth, a 260 mile round trip to meet 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper & Ted Dibiase but at the same time I was bitten by the Scottish wrestling bug. I've since had the pleasure to attend SWE, WrestleZone, W3L, PBW & Rock N Wrestle events over the last few years. While getting to meet the cream of the crop in professional wrestling from Roddy Piper to Scotty 2 Hotty, Hardcore Holly to Chris Masters, D-Von Dudley to Ricochet.
There's nothing like live wrestling.
The bug was in deep when I started OSWtv in 2013, which was a YouTube show which quickly morphed into a Facebook page then website which covers Only Scottish Wrestling.
This leads me to where we are today, joining BritWres Review to cover Edinburgh's Discovery Wrestling, a company that is one of my favourites as I've been watching their shows On Demand.
So some information about me, my favourite match changes nearly everyday so it's a question with infinite answers. I love rumble matches, give me an event with a battle royal then I'm sold already. Strong gimmicks, larger than life characters that allow me to believe. Like I say, an escape from reality. Wrestling is real to me dammit.
Anyway, that's enough about me, let's quote the great duo of all time...PJ & Duncan, LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!
