Jordan returned to ICW once again this time facing Kenny Williams in single action and once again he failed to pick up the victory. Jordan had phenomenal performances throughout 2017 with ICW, however he didn’t have the best Win-Lose record and he looks to improve on this with his return already confirmed for 2018 against Mikey Whiplash. Jordan has been pivotal in the Development of Irish Wrestling and 2017 was Jordan Devlin Year.
Below are the thoughts of various Irish Talents who faced Jordan Devlin Throughout 2017.
OTT Star “The Aviator” Curtis Murray
"The first time I wrestled Jordan was at OTT Road to ScrapperMania in Belfast. I had only returned from injury about a month before that match happened so I truly felt like I had bit off more than I could chew and my confidence was at an all-time low. Going into it I didn’t know what to expect but he settled me down and helped me throughout the whole thing which ended up being a really acceptable match, we even managed to pull of a couple crazy things and I’m very grateful for that match because it was the first time I was introduced to the OTT audience.
"The second time I wrestled Jordan was in the main event of OTT Contenders 2 and I went into that one feeling a lot better but confidence was still low and I think he picked up on that yet again and helped pull me up a level. I’ve read a lot of people online mention it when it comes down to “Irish match of the year in 2017” so I’m really proud of that one too.
"For me, Jordan has helped me out a huge amount and I don’t even think he’s aware of it. I really hope I get the chance to wrestle him again someday when I’m a lot better than I am now. I’m still taking my baby steps in pro wrestling, learning how to walk, so hopefully when I start to pick up speed and get a nice jog going I’ll get another singles match with him somewhere, I really do think we could create some magic in the future and I look forward to the day it happens because I’ve never had a bad experience in the ring or around Jordan in general!"
UPRISING Prospect “The Big Ticket” Gavin Fitz
"I went in planning to give him everything I had in me, and I did. However after doing so I just realised that he is just on a completely different level. I couldn’t keep up. It was more of a wakeup call than a learning experience. I talked with him the next day at his seminar at our training school and that’s when the real learning kicked in. So much respect for Jordan after that weekend. At the time I was upset I couldn’t keep up with him, looking back, it was the best thing that could have happened to me as a young performer. I hope when I’m ready we could have another go. That’s the level I strive to get to."
OTT Star, LJ Cleary
"Coming into 2017 Jordan Devlin was the person who I wanted to wrestler the most. It means a lot to me to get the chance to do it twice for the IJHC more from the standpoint of him being someone that influential at the very beginning of my training when I was 13 years old at the fight factory. Wrestling him was an incredible experience and right now in on a whole other level of talent. He has brought out the best in me as a performer to date and helped me prove to a lot of people that I could go with the best in Europe. I’m hoping that our most recent match isn’t the last time we meet."
