2017 has been quite the Year for Jordan. From rising to the top of OTT, taking over the UK Scene and even competing for WWE. Jordan Devlin has proved in 2017 why he is one of the best in the world.
In January 2017, Jordan Devlin had a major opportunity. Performing for the WWE for the chance to be crowned the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion in a 16 man, 2 Night tournament, held in the Empress Ballroom Blackpool. In the first round, Devlin faced Danny Burch in which he would be victorious, and advance to Night 2 in the Quarter Finals, to face eventual winner Tyler Bate. Although Devlin was eliminated, he could leave with his head held high, massively representing Irish Wrestling in which would be a huge year for the local Indy scene.
In February, Jordan Devlin would return for the first time to OTT since his WWE Debut, where he would be facing the globally travelled ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey at OTT Martina’s Gaff Party, Night One in Dublin, Ireland. Jordan certainly made a mark in his return putting on one of the best matches OTT has seen in its history. The next night in Belfast, Jordan Devlin faced off against the WWE UK Champion, Tyler Bate. Jordan was unsuccessful in getting revenge on Tyler for eliminating last month in Blackpool. Jordan wasn’t finished for February though as he would go on to face Travis Banks in his PROGRESS Wrestling debut at Chapter 44, in the Electric Ballroom London. Jordan was unsuccessful in his debut, however, he certainly put on a great match for the PROGRESS Ultras.
OTT returned to the Tivoli Theatre on in March for OTT Road to ScrapperMania. Here he would team with fellow Social Elite members Charlie Sterling and Paul Tracey to defeat The Wards. This would be the final time in which Jordan would team with The Social Elite before continuing his incredible singles run in OTT. The next Night in Belfast, Jordan would face fellow WWE UK Tournament competitor Tucker, in the Europa Hotel at UPRISING’s first ever show and on the 10th of March, Jordan would make his way to Liverpool for ICW where he would challenge Trent Seven for the ICW Heavyweight Championship. Later after the match, he had to have staples in the back of his head to close a knock he sustained during the match.
The start of April and Jordan was back in Belfast for OTT Road to ScrapperMania in Mandela Hall. He defeated OTT Contender Curtis Murray in an impressive contest. Later in April Jordan returned to ICW, this time in Glasgow, Scotland where he would face off with Stevie Boy in which he would be victorious.
May would be a huge month for Jordan. On the 5th he joined the WWE on the European Tour in Belfast and Dublin, where would defeat Belfast’s Tucker in the 3Arena, Dublin and the next night in Belfast, at the SSE Arena, Devlin would once again face off against Tucker. However, this time a rather unwanted guest interrupted the match just as momentum started to pick up. Therefore, this match would end in a draw after Braun Stroman interfered on the WWEUK Showcase match.
The night after, Jordan would then appear for UPRISING Wrestling where he would defeat Brian Corr in a brilliant showcase of local Irish Wrestling. On the 18th, Jordan would make his Lucha Forever debut in Southampton however he was defeated by Josh Bodom.
The next night Jordan would compete for Fight Club Pro in a six-way match. He would go on to defeat Angelico, Clint Margera, Dan Maloney, Eddie Denis and Jimmy Havoc. Jordan defeated some of the best wrestlers that the UK had to offer, proving he had what it takes to hang with the very best in the UK.
On the 28th May, Jordan would once again challenge for the ICW Championship for the second time against holder Joe Coffey. After putting up an impressive fight against the champ, Jordan was eventually defeated. On June 4th Jordan returned back to OTT to face Moose. After the match, Jordan earned the respect of the fans in attendance which would be the start of him becoming a Fan Favourite throughout Ireland. On June 26th Jordan would appear once again at Fight Club Pro, taking on Omari, Will Ospreay and Mark Haskins in a losing effort however it was said to be one of Fight Club Pro matches of the year.
